How to apply for housing
You can get an application form from any of our offices or by completing our
on-line form.
Cymdeithas Tai Eryri has a waiting list for accommodation and we use a points
system to prioritise applications. In Anglesey, the Association works in
partnership with the County Council to provide a common housing register and
waiting list.
Anyone can make an application for housing but there are exceptions.
We cannot process your application straight away if:
-
You are a tenant with another Housing Association or Council – you should
contact your present landlord.
-
You are homeless – you should contact the Council, as we cannot provide
emergency accommodation. However, we can offer advice if you are not sure what
to do.
-
You own your present home – we may consider your application if you are
experiencing financial difficulties e.g. mortgage arrears or if you are on a
low income. You will be required to provide written evidence e.g. letters from
the bank or building society with your application.
-
You suffer from any medical problems – you will be required to provide medical
evidence with your application e.g. a letter from your doctor.
-
Your house is in a poor state of repair – again we will ask you to provide
written evidence such as e.g. a report by the Council’s Environmental
Department.
Each application is assessed in accordance with our points system and
individual needs.
We will ask the Council for nominations from their waiting list as well as
considering applicants from our own waiting list. The property will be let to
the applicant with the most points. You can obtain a copy of our Lettings
Policy by contacting any of our offices. It explains how we award points.

Please use this form to make your initial enquiry.
Points to remember when completing the application form:
-
It is important that you complete all the questions on your application form so
that we can deal with your application fairly. If you fail to fully complete
each section, we may have to return the form to you, thus causing delay before
your application is accepted onto the waiting list.
-
You should ensure that you provide information of all the previous addresses
you have lived in for the past 10 years.
-
You should include written medical evidence if you are either:
-
Pregnant or,
-
Suffering from any other medical condition
-
You should include written evidence with your application if:
-
You have financial difficulties or,
-
Your current home is in poor condition/state of repair
Moving from the Property
If you intend to move out of the property, you must give us at least 4 weeks
written notice. Each and every tenancy must begin and end on a Monday. When the
tenant leaves the property, every other member of the household must also leave
the property. You must leave the property in a clean and tidy condition. If
there is any damage caused to the building/property you could be liable to pay
the cost of repair.
